I had just submitted my taxes and had heard in the news that CRA was no longer issuing cheques. If I had clicked on the link provided it may have loaded a virus or asked me to submit private information.<\/p>\n<p>Always be suspicious of emails\/phone calls. If your tempted make sure to call the company and verify they sent the message. Make sure to find their phone number from a bill or official website. When you search for a company phone number in google 9\/10 are fake ones that will try to get remote access to your computer.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a copy of the scam message:<\/p>\n<p>## ||Dear Tax Payer, ( %Email )<\/p>\n<p>## ||Canada Revenue Agency has sent you an INTERAC e-Transfer<br \/>\n## ||(previously INTERAC Email Money Transfer).<\/p>\n<p>## ||Amount: $496.44 (CAD)<br \/>\n## ||Sender\u2019s Message: A message was not provided<br \/>\n## ||Expiry Date: 19 April 2016<\/p>\n<p>## ||Action Required:<br \/>\n## ||To deposit your money, click here:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I received an email that even had me thinking twice that it may not be a scam.
