I received an email that even had me thinking twice that it may not be a scam. I had just submitted my taxes and had heard in the news that CRA was no longer issuing cheques. If I had clicked on the link provided it may have loaded a virus or asked me to submit private information.
Always be suspicious of emails/phone calls. If your tempted make sure to call the company and verify they sent the message. Make sure to find their phone number from a bill or official website. When you search for a company phone number in google 9/10 are fake ones that will try to get remote access to your computer.
Here is a copy of the scam message:
